The Heart of Virginia Alpaca Show will be following the 2025 AOA Show Rules. Heart of VA halter show entries will be judged by AOA Halter and Fleece Judge, Jude Anderson.  The Walking Fleece competition will be judged by AOA Fleece Judge, Karolyn Knoll.

The Dominion Show will be judged by AOA Halter and Fleece Judge Laurel Shouvlin.  We welcome them all for 2025.

These judges love to educate, teaching is their specialty. The clinic style atmosphere during the entire show will give you a better understanding of your alpacas and the industry. Try not to learn something this weekend!

So What Is A Walking Fleece?

AOA Walking Fleece Competition

The Walking Fleece competition is an opportunity for the exhibitor to enter a fleece competition where the prime fleece is evaluated while still on the alpaca. Conformation is not assessed. An AOA Walking Fleece Scorecard will be completed for each alpaca in the course of this evaluation/judging process. Placements are made on a highest point basis once all evaluations are completed and tabulated. Rules shall follow the rules for Fleece Shows according to breed, age divisions, color groups and class size.
Oral comments by the Judge may be given during the hands-on evaluation. Judging by an AOA Certified Fleece Judge is required.
Tiebreakers are the same as in the Fleece Show rules.
